Blakedale has been featured in a publication for the Institute of Highway Engineers. Under the headline "Investing in road worker safety" our Joint Managing Director, Carmen Bowley explains why a more widespread adoption of Impact Protection Vehicles (IPV) and CCTV technologies is needed to make the job of working on the UK's roads safer.
Of course, the size of these vehicles (usually 18 tonne or more) can be a barrier preventing their use on many inner city and rural roads. This is why we have recently introduced a compact 3.5 tonne IPV (also known as a LTMA - Light Truck Mounted Attenuator or "mini" IPV).
Our article in the November IHE Technical Bulletin highlights this new addition to the Blakedale fleet. You can read it here on pages 6-7.
