The largest privately owned operation of its type in the UK, Blakedale is based in the North West of England and services the whole of Great Britain and Ireland.
For over 30 years, the business has been a stalwart of the highways network, and with a Blakedale road marker post standing proudly at an average of 1 marker post per 100m of UK motorway, in addition to the 400+ vehicles the company now has in its fleet, suffice it to say that the company has a significant presence all over the UK's daily operations within the sector.
However, this isn't 'just' a hire fleet company...
Blakedale doesn't just provide over 400 vehicles from its hire fleet into the industry, but also builds a variety of vehicles for direct sale to those businesses looking to acquire their own assets. Blakedale can deliver a range of vehicles including TSCO cars and vans, 3.5t drop sides with LP13 or tail lifts as well as the popular IPV fitted with the Scorpion ll crash cushion. In addition to these, their new low body TM vehicle built on the Renault Master Red Badge is already in high demand.
A host of requirements and vehicle features can be catered for and with a customer focused approach, Blakedale sets about each vehicle build with a gimlet- eyed attention to detail to ensure each customer is 100% satisfied with their final vehicle.
Working closely with its clients to establish their exact requirements, Blakedale has been more than a hire business for 16 years and delivered its first sold vehicle in 2005.
As the family-owned business has grown over the last 30 years, the vehicle sales operation has grown alongside its self-drive hire fleet.
Described by a Blakedale insider as "perhaps something of an industry secret" the 'not just a hire company' message is perhaps more vital than ever given the Chancellor, Rishi Sunak's, announcement of a tax super-deduction that encourages companies to invest.
Chevron TM, the largest independent traffic management provider in the UK, has a relationship with Blakedale as a client that dates back over 10 years.
The business, which provides TM services to a range of clients including high-speed, local authorities, utilities, rail, and events, that has seen significant growth, in particular over the last decade and consequently, its vehicle requirements have skyrocketed due to the ever-increasing demand for its services.
Enter Blakedale.
Utilising both the company's sales and hire capability, Blakedale has established itself as a long term supplier to Chevron TM, who have in turn come to value Blakedale's ability to deliver on time, each time, in both these areas.
